The Waroona Recreation Centre is intending to hold a Billy Kart “Come Try Day” on Sunday 28th April, on the cricket oval access road behind the Waroona Recreation Centre.
The objective of the event is to:
Engage parents and their children:
In a challenging and exciting physical activity.
Embrace the personalization of karts by young people using board cut-outs, paint and decals.
Bring together community groups such as Lions, Leos, Car Club and Men’s Shed to engage with young people.
Bring together elderly and retired residents with young people to build and modify Karts.
Encourage Waroona residents to embrace the fun of downhill competition.
Summary of activities:
Scrutineering of any Karts brought to the event by attendees or their parents.
Scrutineered Karts are identified with an adhesive decal.
Billy Cart Kart driver training, using scrutineered Karts loaned from the Mt Helena Billy Kart Club.
Issue of a 1-day permit for each driver, to certify that they have completed the driver training program.
